Also consider our dual masters in International Relations/Peace and Conflict Studies. This two year dual degree program allows you to obtain two highly sought after and complementary qualifications. This dual degree will allow you to pursue a unique program of studies, which provides you with an understanding of the broad structures and dynamics of the international system combined with more specialised skills and knowledge of critical issues and debates relating to peace and conflict, conflict resolution and mediation, and peacebuilding.
Peace and Conflict Studies at UQ is designed to build your knowledge about the forces that generate contemporary conflict and the processes and practices that contribute to conflict prevention, resolution and peacebuilding.
The program is delivered by a school that is recognised internationally and nationally as a leader in peace and conflict studies research and teaching. Our curriculum includes courses which examine international peacekeeping, peacebuilding, conflict reconciliation, principles of humanitarian protection and post-conflict governance. You will develop the theoretical and practical skills to reflect on the role of states, intergovernmental organisations, non-government organisations, non-state groups and individuals, as parties to conflict, conflict resolution, and post-conflict transition.
