Join us for a Roundtable about the War in Cities Exhibition curated by the ICRC and hosted by POLSIS.

Roundtable guest speakers include David Tuck, the head of the Australian mission of the ICRC, Marwa Charmand, a visual artist and the curator of the War in Cities Exhibition, Prof Alexander Bellamy, the Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect and Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Queensland (UQ), A/Prof Emma Hutchison, Associate Professor and Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow in the School of Political Science and International Studies at UQ, A/Prof Sarah Percy, Associate Professor in the School of Political Science and International Studies at UQ, Stacey Pizzino, Ph.D. student in the School of Public Health at UQ whose research focuses on disaster health management and mine related injuries from a public health perspective.

The roundtable will be chaired by Prof Roland Bleiker, Professor of International Relations, Director of the Rotary Peace Center and Coordinator of the Visual Politics Research Program.

The War in Cities Exhibition discussed during the roundtable is on display in POLSIS (GP North 39a, levels 4 and 5), from 16 August until 1 September 2023. The exhibition is a collection of objects and audio-visual materials from battlefields. They tell a story about the staggering toll of urban warfare, the humanitarian needs that arise, and people’s resilience.
