International Politics in Practice POLS7777
International Politics in Practice POLS7777 with Dr Kiriloi Ingram
This course translates theories in international politics into policy-driven responses to local and global security challenges. We analyse the practical implications of established (realism, liberalism, constructivism) and critical approaches (feminism, postcolonial, decolonial) and interrogate the ethics of actors¿ responses. Key cases include multilateralism and disaster management in the Indo-Pacific, the rise of the far-right and crises of democracy, and critical approaches to counterterrorism and peacebuilding. We conclude by critically reflecting on the future of practice in contemporary world politics.
