The Australian Journal of Politics and History is jointly run by the School of Political Science & International Studies and the School of Historical & Philosophical Inquiry at the University of Queensland. Established in 1955, it is one of the most prominent academic journals in both history and political science in Australia. It was one of only three Australian-based political science journals to be ranked A or above in the ERA (2010) and APSA (2013) journal ranking exercise. The journal is widely known for its publication of leading research along with annual chronicles of state politics and Australian foreign policy. Members of the School serve as editors of the journal (currently Associate Professor Matt McDonald), and editors of the chronicles sections (currently Associate Professor Andrew Phillips and Dr Frank Mols).
