Call for Applications : UQ Development Postdoctoral Fellowships

The School of Political Science and International Studies invites applications from well qualified applicants for University of Queensland Development Fellowships. These fellowships offer outstanding opportunities for emerging scholars to conduct advanced research at the forefront of political science and international studies.

The School has research expertise across the fields of Australian politics, governance and public policy, peace and conflict studies, international relations, and political theory, and has active research clusters in institutional transformations, history and theory in international relations, peace and development, and visual politics. It welcomes applications from scholars with research projects in any of these areas.

Interested applicants should contact the Director of Research, Professor Christian Reus-Smit (, and a senior scholar who might serve as their academic supervisor for the course of a fellowship.

Expressions of interest should be emailed to Professor Reus-Smit no later than 14 August 2017.

The formal application process is detailed on, and completed applications must be submitted by 8 September 2017.

Please note that the School will first consider expressions of interest from prospective applicants, on the basis of which it will decide which applications to encourage for full submission.

Expressions of interests should include

  1. A current CV
  2. A one page statement of the proposed research program, including how it fits with the School’s research strengths
  3. The name of a senior scholar in the School who has agreed to serve as mentor.
