The School of Political Science and International Studies warmly congratulates Dr Samid Suliman and Dr Barbara Sullivan and for their recent achievements at the Australian Political Studies Association Conference (APSA), held at the University of Canberra from 28-30 September 2015.
Dr Suliman won the award for the best PhD thesis of the last year, ‘Migration, Development, and Kinetic Politics’. It’s a superb recognition of the effort and quality of Dr Suliman’s research displays. Thanks also to Dr Suliman’s excellent supervisory team, Dr Heloise Weber (Principal) and Dr Martin Weber (Associate) for their contribution.
APSA also presented an award for leadership and mentoring in the Political Studies discipline which was awarded to Dr Barbara Sullivan. Dr Sullivan has made an extraordinary contribution to the discipline through her encouragement and mentoring of research students and early career researchers. It’s fitting that the national discipline recognises her achievements.
These awards are richly deserves and reflect the School’s strong commitment to nourishing and sustaining a lively RHD community.
