The Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect (AP R2P) will feature in today’s United Nations General Assembly dialogue on the responsibility of UN member states to protect their populations by preventing genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity through appropriate and necessary measures. The Centre will be one of only three Non-Governmental Organizations permitted to offer an address (and the the only one based outside New York). Representing the Centre at the General Assembly is Dr Noel Morada, who heads up a research program on regional diplomacy and capacity building, and the Centre’s newly appointed Director Professor Alex Bellamy.
